A shop shelf of ceramics, candles, and small good things

Everything in here earned its shelf.

Two rooms, one bell over the door, and a stock that changes because Odette keeps finding things. Candles that smell like a place and not a concept, cards you will actually mail, and the toy your kid remembers at forty.

See what's on the shelves right now.

This week

  • Fresh flowers in Thursday mornings
  • Gift wrap free, as always, on anything
  • The bitter chocolate is back. Be quick.

The board on the sidewalk

Rewritten every Tuesday morning, weather permitting, in Odette's chalk handwriting. If the board says something is back, believe the board; it has never once lied about chocolate.

A few things, with their shelf cards

In the shop, every good thing gets a little handwritten card taped under it. These are the cards, faithfully transcribed, stock not guaranteed by the time you get here.

The December candle

$24

Sells out every winter and we refuse to over-order; scarcity is half the smell. Ask why it is called December in July.

Letterpress cards

$6 each

Printed two towns over on a press older than everyone involved. The birthday one with the dog is the bestseller.

Stoneware mugs

$32

From a potter who makes forty a month, no more. Slightly different every time, which is the entire point.

The wooden ducks

$18

We cannot explain the ducks. They sell constantly. Buy one and you will understand, or be confused at home instead.

How buying works here

There is no cart on this website, on purpose. Call and we will hold anything behind the counter for three days; longer if you have a good story.

We ship anywhere in the US, flat $8, wrapped like it matters, because it does. Tell us who it is for and we will pick the paper accordingly.

Gift wrap is free and slightly famous. People bring us things bought elsewhere. We wrap those too and only judge a little.
